Stand Up Paddleboarding in Sydney
As our favourite sport grows and grows, there are SUP paddle boarding classes popping up all over the Sydney basin. Stand Up Paddle Australia offers ASI (Academy of Surfing Instructors) accredited workshops, training and events at:
- Narrabeen, Middle Creek Reserve
- Rose Bay, and
But that’s not all. There are so many venues to enjoy – take paddle boarding at Manly, for example. In one town you can SUP in the surf, in a bay or on the Harbour.
Sure you can do it just for the fun – but there’s so many more ways you’ll benefit. How about improved core strength, better balance and increased endurance, not to mention a lovely dose of vitamin D every time you paddle!
Sydney has so many water venues to explore. There are 30 ocean beaches and bays from Cronulla to Bondi south of the city, and Manly to Palm Beach north of the bridge. There is the world’s most beautiful natural harbour, the bays, the waterways of our national parks such as the Royal and Kurringai Chase – and then there’s the rivers, from the Georges to the Hawkesbury.
All you need is a board and a paddle – and for longer treks, two critical pieces of safety gear: a life jacket and mobile phone.
